Hello,

Hope you all have fun during Freshers – it might be worth looking at Skiddle (http://www.skiddle.com/freshers/) for some more information about things to do during freshers.

Cheers!

Hi

I’m starting at Folkestone uni this year, and I have just seen the freshers week events, and I was wondering if you need to attend them all and if you need to let someone know if you cant, as I have work on some the evenings. And also if I miss one event does that mean I cannot go to the others?

Thanks Charlotte

Christ Church Students' Union says:

You should attend any daytime induction/registration sessions, but evening events are optional so you can pick and choose. Obviously it’s great to try and attend as many as you can so you can meet new people and make new friends.

Dear Ali – There are a number of options for parking:

we have a special agreement with Folkestone Harbour Car Park who run a ‘Smartcard’ scheme for students using their car park. Students are required to complete two application forms (office and student) and then bring them to the car park on their first visit. Completion of these forms will allow students to purchase a Parking Smartcard for £3.00. The card is then to be used as a top up facility with a minimum top-up of £10.00. This will give users 10 visits to the harbour regardless of how long they stay i.e. £1.00 per visit. Application Forms are available at the UCF Reception or can be emailed if requested, please contact i-zone-ucf@canterbury.ac.uk. Alternatively we recommend behind the Quarterhouse for 60 pence an hour.

To find out about all the social events and induction events for the first week, including the Welcome Night at Folkestone that the UCF Freshers’ Crew are organising, see: http://www.ucf.ac.uk/Folkestone/Freshers%202011.aspx

If you join the UCF Freshers’ Facebook you will be able to chat to the Crew and new students too,

See you soon – Debbie (UCF ILS Officer)

Hi there

I am starting at Folkestone in two weeks and am keen to come to Freshers events – it all looks really exciting!

I may be driving as I live locally, so is there any parking for the Folkestone campus? And am I right in thinking that the Welcome night is also at Folkestone? And finally, what time does it all start?

Thanks

Ali
