I have been called on a disciplinary hearing by my programme, what should I do?
If a student has contravened the Student Code of Conduct available HERE then their Head of Department would need to call the student in for a disciplinary hearing. The University disciplinary procedure can be found HERE it outlines the code of conduct and the possible outcomes of a disciplinary hearing. Prepare for the meeting by writing a statement that explains your side of the story, the case in chronological order, and your reasons behind any actions.
All students are entitled to representation from the Students’ Union at disciplinary hearings. Arrange to meet with the Students’ Union Advice Caseworker (ellie.martin@canterbury.ac.uk) in good time before the meeting in order to go through the case and prepare.
