Freshers is now over but we hope you’ve had a great first week or so at Uni and have started to settle down a bit more. Please go to our main site ccsu.co.uk to find out about more ways to get involved with your Students’ Union and to extend your experiences at CCCU.

What is a Fresher?
A Fresher is anyone who is ‘fresh’ to the University, so basically that means all first year students starting off at Christ Church Uni, and Freshers Week is a week of events to help new students settle in, meet people and have fun!
Who are Freshers’ Crew?
Freshers’ Crew are a group of enthusiastic and friendly student volunteers working to help new students to settle in, have fun, stay safe and enjoy all the opportunities of life at university.
The Crew are specially selected 2nd & 3rd year students who are there to answer any questions you have, give directions, help run and co-ordinate events, and most of all help you settle in to your new life at Canterbury Christ Church University. The crew are all current students, have been there and done that, and have all been Freshers in the past so they know what you’re going through.
What’s planned for me then?
Canterbury Christ Church University doesn’t just have one campus so please go to the events page to see what is happening at your campus. Find out what’s happening at Canterbury, Broadstairs, Folkestone, and Medway. We try and put on a wide range of events so there is something for everyone and we also try and plan events that will get people talking to each other, having fun, and most importantly making friends.

Wristbands
To all new students starting Christ Church in September (at the Canterbury Campus), ALL ‘Freshers’ Week’ Events will only be accessible to students with a WRISTBAND, these will be issued when you arrive to start your course. You just need to make sure you have your acceptance letter or your new student ID card and we’ll issue a wristband. Do not worry however there are plenty of opportunities and time to get this.
*Please note wristbands are ONLY for students who are new to the university, not for any students who have previously attended Christ Church, friends or guests.*
What to do if you can’t wait until Freshers Week.
We have set up a Freshers page on Facebook that will allow you to chat to other new students before everyone arrives and this is a great way to find out who is on your course, who’s in the same accommodation, and also to get excited about coming to Uni!
