Poem

Last night

I rubbed elbows with the moon
Told the stars my secrets
But the clouds knew
What weighed on my heavy heart

This morning

I burned my skin on the sun
Laughed at the disappearing fire
And emerging rain
But the clouds only knew
What I couldn’t tell

Tonight

I ignore nature’s nightlight
Disregard my friends
Argue with the secrets
And fall asleep

Wondering what
T O M O R R O W
will bring.

I love the idea of rubbing elbows with the moon! This is beautifully intimate and sad; I think a lot of people could relate to it.
