		<description>You know that I&#039;m not a Labour supporter, but in what way have the government let us down on immigration? This argument is one of the biggest successes of right-wing politics, that somehow foreigners are invading our country and taking advantage of &#039;all that we have&#039;. 

There is no evidence to suggest that immigration has ever affected the availability of jobs or houses in this country, despite attention-grabbing headlines from media outlets like the Sun and the Daily Mail saying things like &quot;Immigrants take ALL our jobs!&quot;. It is this kind of hysteria that allows racists into power.

CCSU has a policy of &#039;No Platform&#039; for the BNP, meaning we do not allow them onto campus, and they are not allowed to speak to our students. As the Question Time incident proved, this is an absolutely essential factor in keeping racist extremism out of the mainstream political system.
