Dr. Moira Helm, Joint Project Director for Augustine House, tells us what students can expect from the new building:
Augustine house certainly has a wow factor, which will be visible from the moment you step foot in the building. I think the biggest change students will experience from the new library at Augustine House will be the calm environment where they can use mobiles, talk to each other and relax.
Here at Christ Church we also recognise that times are changing and that a lot of students work and live in a …

When I was at school I couldn’t get enough of the Prodigy and it was the summer before I started 6th form that The Fat of the Land was released (1997). I already owned Music for the Jilted Generation (1994), the previous album, and then I bought Experience (1991), their first album, which I missed out on as I still in junior school and maybe a little young for rave.
All great albums with some killer tunes on, and although there have been some albums after them I guess I class …

There aren’t too many big names that have graced the Winter Gardens over the past few years with only maybe Jimmy Carr making it a regular feature on his comedy tours, but the photos covering every inch of wallspace in the building shows the rich heritage that Margate has had in the past.
In recent years it’s only (insert generic TV talent show) has-beens that have featured on the bill but it looks as if a corner is turning with popular bands choosing to add Margate onto the gigging circuit. In …

The Friday 13th has always been an amusing franchise which never ceases to shock with all the creative ways to kill people. It’s the type of film you can stick on, shut out the lights, and sink into the sofa cushions; all the time feeling totally safe that no matter how stupid you are, you would never go upstairs, you would always be able to outrun someone walking slower than a crawling baby, and most importantly, would never visit Camp Crystal Lake.
So how would you feel if all those comforts …

Gluttony, greed, sloth, envy, wrath, pride, and lust. Seven deadly sins we are all guilty of to some extent, and after watching this film, making you quite glad you are nowhere near the sadistic killer from this epic David Fincher masterpiece. Se7en is a film which follows two detectives (Pitt and Freeman) on their hunt to bring a psychotic serial killer, who tortures and murders, to justice.
This is a film you must own. No two words about it. The twists and turns will keep you gripped in suspense throughout the …

“It’s a fantastic day for Margate, for Thanet and for the whole of East Kent. It really is an occasion to remember and an event to mark down in history.” said Thanet council leader Sandy Ezekiel as his spade sunk into the ground.
I suppose I should put 25th November 2008 in my diary then, maybe doodle a few fireworks around it, and then, after thinking about it, I’ll rip the page out and throw it away. Tuesday 25th November 2008 isn’t a fantastic day for me, not yet, and I’ll …

It’s often the case that films so often hyped-up beyond belief fall drastically short upon viewing but I can tell you now that The Wrestler does not fall into this category.
It would be easy for the film to drift into the sports movie stereotype of burnt-out one-time champ meets aging stripper, who then proceed to get their lives on track and end up happily ever after just like the countless other films we’ve all seen before, and perhaps with other actors and a different director it would have. The film …

Through the still blue of the half-light,
In a shroud of guilty sweat,
He tries to still the roaring silence;
Tries, and fails, to forget.
Twitching flesh will not obey him,
Through clenching mouth and tacky teeth
His heavy breath becomes erratic;
