University registration issues

System errors, processing issues, and delays to registering for your course isn’t the start to university life that many of you were expecting, and it’s definitely not the start that you deserve.

System errors, processing issues, and delays to registering for your course isn’t the start to university life that many of you were expecting, and it’s definitely not the start that you deserve.

Being independent of the university allows us to honestly represent our students and call out when something just isn’t right.

As soon as the issues started to become apparent, the Students’ Union worked hard listening to students and responding, whilst also feeding back to the university and challenging them on their communication and processes.

Today (17-9-20) the university apologised for the problems students are having when registering and has given a clear update to all of us, students included, as to the issues and how they are being resolved.

We feel satisfied that your voices have been heard and are being listened to and will continue to push for a resolution.

In the interim, many members of university staff have offered support and help, most notably Estates and Facilities, which have been warmly received by the students affected.

Although this isn't the perfect scenario, and not one any of us wanted, we are all still here for you and are ready to help make your time at University the best we possibly can, starting with Freshers’ Week.

I am continuing to collect student feedback to present to the university so please email me on becky@ccsu.co.uk and if you are facing any difficulties then please get in touch and I can signpost you in the best direction to get help.
