Get Smart is a comedy based on the 1965 hit US series of the same name. The film follows Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell), a top analyst of the US Secret Service turned spy, and Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway) as they’re sent on a mission together after all the other agents identities are compromised.

Get smart is an amusing film with some very well known actors and actresses. Most of the laughs are centred around Carell, so it’s lucky he is on the screen a lot. Anne Hathaway is a surprise candidate for Agent 99, although she pulls the role off very well, and also brings a sense of sexy to a male dominated cast. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson once again plays the role of super cool/super hard male, but he is just as amusing as when he was when he was the ‘People’s Champ’ in the WWF.

Overall, the film is pretty slow, and the plot is quite thin, but there are still laughs to be had. Your best option is to rent it, or wait for it to dramatically drop in price, which in all honesty, won’t be too much of a wait!
