Hi
I am Mukti, I want to be your academic representative this year so please vote for me! I am really enthusiastic about this role and motivated to bring about changes that are for everyone.
Why do I want to be your academic representative?
During my Pharmacy degree at Bath university, I was:
-
Secretory for St John Ambulance society for 1 year followed by Vice president for the same society for 2 years.
-
Education representative for the Pharmacy Society which involved organising and holding events on careers in pharmacy speaking to external pharmacists in a number of different industries to come and speak to students.
-
Academic representative for 1 year of my course, building the relationship between students and lecturers.
-
Representative for my cohort at my hospital Trust. This involved setting up meetings with the education supervisors and giving feedback on our training year.
What will I do as academic representative for our year group?
-
Use surveys to obtain feedback from the cohort regularly throughout the year (not just the mid-module and end of module forum and the revision sessions).
-
To be a bridge for all students in the cohort (undergraduates + graduates) to ensure your voices are heard and listened by the staff to make changes we want to see!
-
I know that meetings are held every 2 weeks. I want to ensure that you hear the feedback from each of these sessions to know what is happening and keep you up to date with the changes.
-
If I get multiple feedback on the same thing, I will ensure we do polls for the whole cohort to see what the majority think before taking it forward to get statistics and ensuring that everyone is listened to!
-
I will always be available to speak to in person or via social media, but I know not everyone feels comfortable with bringing their feedback forward so there will be an option to give feedback anonymously.
-
Finally, I will make sure to take ALL your opinions into consideration!
What skills do I have to for this role?
-
Time management skills to manage this role along with the course
-
Organisational skills to make sure polls and feedback surveys are available in a timely manner
-
Communication skills to speak to both students and staff to implement changes
-
Team working skills to work with all of you to making changes for the course
I am determined I can do this role and implement changes we all want to see as a cohort to be heard and see those changes being made for us!
Thank you for taking the time to read my manifesto and please vote for me!
