Students’ Unions are amongst the most democratic membership organisations in the UK. Every one of them has its own structure for debating ideas and campaigns and making decisions. They are run by students who are elected by students – and everyone can have their say.
Here at Christ Church SU, our highest democratic decision-making body is called Union Council, and this is your chance to vote students into positions on it. So, please pick up a cause and speak up for it. We want our Union Council to not only represent the student body but to speak up for it. We want to hear our Union Council loud and clear this year. Your Union Council is one of the main ways that you, yes you a student will be represented.
The Union Council is the channel between students and the Students’ Union. It is literally built for students by students.
So, even if it may seem like the Union Council is distant from your own student life, we can assure you it is not. So, either be a candidate or pick a candidate that you know will represent students and go the distance for a cause they believe in. Because that is what it is all about... going the distance for the causes we believe in.
So, come, stand up with us for something you believe in.
We are sending a call-out to every single one of you who has a voice that needs to be heard.
Nominate, vote, speak up and be the difference.
Enough is enough! The student voice matters.
