10 things you need to know for the Ball
The Summer Ball takes place on Saturday 19th May 2018 so here's a few things to make sure you enjoy the evening without a hitch.
1. Collect Your Ticket ASAP
Collect your ticket if you haven't done so yet. The last time for collection is 4:30pm on Friday 18th May 2018. Uncollected tickets will be on the door at the Ball but expect a longer entrance time so we recommend collecting your ticket beforehand.
2. Doors open at 7:30pm
The Ball opens at 7:30pm and we have acts on from the very beginning so arrive for then or 9pm at the very latest. Last entry is 10pm but you will miss some great acts if you leave it until then.
3. It's at the former Canterbury Prison
The ball is taking place at the former Canterbury Prison and entry is the Old Sessions House entrance on Longport. Click here for Google Map link.
4. Get cash out beforehand
Get your cash out beforehand. There will be no cashpoint at the Ball but bars will take both cards (although without cashback) and cash. Cash will make things a lot easier. There is a cashpoint in Anslem Foyer, at The Lounge and also in Waitrose too.
5. Don't forget your ticket & Photo ID
Bring your ticket. No ticket, no entry. You will also need to bring photo ID too such as a passport or driving licence. This is the terms of our licence so there's nothing we can do about it.
6. Get a free drink on us
We also have a free drinks reception 7:30-8:30pm* with the Declan Fields and the City Players providing the entertainment. *One free selected drink per person whilst stocks last.
7. There is no re-entry to the Ball
There is no re-entry to the Ball so please bring everything you need with you. There is a cloakroom for coats/spare shoes! Please don’t bring large bags and note that bags will be searched on entry.
8. Leave your perfume at home
Due to security requirements the following will not be allowed into the venue and may be confiscated. No liquids, aerosols, perfumes, glass or alcohol are allowed into the Ball so please leave these at home.
9. Tell your friends to get their tickets
If you have friends that haven't got tickets yet then tell them to buy them quick as they will go offline at midday on Sat 19th May. Tickets will be on sale on the door of the Ball and at The Lounge after that time but will cost £40 (cash only...no cards accepted).
10. Come and have fun!
