Yes you can bring a guest but students/staff/alumni must buy the ticket for the guest and they must also be over 18 years of age.

The Ball attracts students from every walk of life – the diversity of the attractions and acts means that there is something for everyone at the Ball. Mature and postgraduate students are well represented at the event.
Tickets will be removed from sale online at 9am the day of the Summer Ball. If you still need to buy a ticket then you can buy them in person with cash at the entry of the Summer Ball on the night.

The usual issue is people not putting in the correct billing address. Remember to put in the adddress where your card is registered which may not be the same as your term-time address. If you are still having issues then you can pay by cash at the SU reception in Canterbury.
Food is not included in the ticket price – the logistics of feeding 2000 people make it impossible unfortunately. There are lots of food choices available at The Summer Ball but we advise you to eat a good, healthy meal before you set off from home.
Drinks are not included in the ticket price but we have bars selling a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

On The Night

The Summer Ball opens at 7:30pm and finishes at 2:30am.
There will be no entry after 10pm at the Ball so make sure you're there early… also you don't want to miss some of the great acts we have this year. There will also be no re-entry to the ball.
The Summer Ball is a smart event so it's usually suits or dinner jackets for the men and cocktail dresses or ball dresses for the women.
Yes, you want to look amazing but you could be at the Summer Ball for 7 hours so make sure you keep that in mind when making your shoe choices.
Yes there is with donations going to charity.
We can’t advise how much money to bring with you to the Ball – that’s up to you but bars will be able to take card too, although popping to a cashpoint beforehand will make things a lot easier.
