Staying Safe

Coming to university is the best decision I ever made! Although it may of been 3 difficult and hard-working years, they were also the most fun, enlightening and adventurous years of my life. However, moving away from home to a town and area that you are not familiar with can be daunting, especially on nights out. It is important to stay safe, so here are my top tips on how to do just that!

  • Get to know the area. Take walks in the daytime and familiarise yourself with local roads and routes

  • Don’t walk home alone, that’s what friends are for.

  • Plan your route home before a night out.

  • Let people know if you’re going out and what time you will roughly be home. If this changes, just update them.

  • Most importantly, stay safe but have fun!

Canterbury is a beautiful city, with a vibrant and cultural daytime, and an entertaining and lively nightlife.

For more tips on how to stay safe, I can be contacted by phone and email, every Monday-Friday, between the hours of 9am-5pm.
