About

Christ Church Volunteering

Christ Church Volunteering is a new partnership between Canterbury Christ Church University and Christ Church Students’ Union to promote opportunities for students to volunteer in the University and local community. Developed as a result of our shared commitment to transform individuals, create knowledge, enrich communities and build a sustainable future.

We work collaboratively with our Partners to create opportunities through which you can build your skills, improve your employability and stand out from the crowd in today' competitive jobs market. By including volunteering experience on your CV you will demonstrate key skills and dedication to potential employers.

Volunteering can also allow you to build skills in your chosen area and for a cause that you believe in – it is a great way to make a difference to the communities around you.  These roles are usually very flexible and you can volunteer at a time that works around your existing commitments, such as your studies.

Volunteering can have a profoundly positive impact on your life and the lives of those around you. We encourage and support all of our students to realise their potential through volunteering.

On these pages you will find opportunities for:

Community volunteering –  we work with the local community to secure ongoing volunteering opportunities with not-for-profit and charitable organisations, as well as one-off events which respond to real needs within the community.

Whether your interest is primarily in social issues that affect people, caring for a charity close to your heart, or if you want to gain experience in your future field of work, there will be a relevant organisation close by who would love extra help.

University and Students’ Union volunteering – you may prefer to volunteer on campus and there are plenty of opportunities available where you can make a difference particularly via the Students’ Union, Arts Extra, Peer Mentoring and the Graduation and Events Service.
