The CCSU Cricket Team made regional, national and international news this week when they bowled out the opposition for a record zero runs! Playing in the ECB county six-a-side indoor championships, Christ Church set a target of 120 runs and then proceeded to dismantle opponents Bapchild who were bowled out for nought off just 20 balls.

"We couldn't believe it, all they needed to do was hit a wall to get one run," Christ Church player Mike Rose told the Crawley Observer.

Upon being announced League Champions, Mike added “We're very pleased. And it’s not just the cricket team but the whole uni as it’s the first ever student team to be champions of the league so it’s some achievement.”

Making the news

Bowling a team out for zero doesn't happen very often and so news soon spread nationally with the BBC also reporting on the story and featuring it on the front page of their Sports section. And news even made it to The Times of India and Stuff which is New Zealand's biggest news website.

The news even made it onto Sky Sports News!

And for ultimate kudos CCSU Cricket were also mentioned by the England and Wales Cricket Board, national governing body for all cricket in England and Wales.
