C4 Jets is the cheerleading team at Canterbury Christ Church University, and National Champions for 2025. Cheerleading is a competitive team sport which is made up of stunting, tumbling, a pyramid, jumps and dance. The team competes Nationally representing the university at competitions such as Legacy, BCA and ICC. Alongside working towards this goal, we support a variety of other sports teams and societies at least once a week at their matches, games and events. Cheerleading is a sport for everyone and there is no requirement for experience. In the past we have competed in both co-ed and all girl categories and this will depend on the selected team this season.
This past season we competed in the medium non-tumble level 2 division at two competitions. We had an amazing first competition in Birmingham at Legacy Alpha and Omega, where we placed second with a zero deductions routine. At our second competition we placed first also with a zero dedeuctions routine at ICC University Nationals in Nottingham. It was an outstanding year for the team and we were proud to achieve such great results against hard competition. Towards the end of the year we also perform at Varsity where we show our routine with Kent Crystals in support for the University and the other sports teams.
Our training sessions are every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 8pm to 9:30pm. We also attend Stoddy every Wednesday where we go and support other sports teams by cheering them on from the sidelines. Both of these are compulsory.
Socials are held every Wednesday evening and involve a range of fancy dress themed and games for everyone to interact with. They are run by our two social secs who arrange and manage all the social nights out, during competition season we also hold sober socials to keep us in focus ready for competition. Socials are a great way for the team to bond as a whole and a great way to further friendships created in the gym and to make some amazing memories.
