Welcome to your Students’ Union space

We’re excited to welcome you to our vibrant home on the Canterbury campus, a space designed to bring students together, support your university journey, and host a wide range of exciting events.

Since opening, we've been able to connect with more students than ever before through initiatives like our Give It A Go! programme, and by offering everyday support through the Canterbury Campus Pantry, daily free Breakfast Club, and free hot drinks to help students during the Cost of Living and Learning Crisis.

Whether you’re looking to meet new people, grab a bite, or get involved, our space is for you.

Introducing: Mary Seacole

Mary Seacole was a pioneering British-Jamaican nurse who made a profound impact during the Crimean War by establishing the British Hotel, a place of care for wounded soldiers.  In 2003, she was voted the Greatest Black Briton, and a statue in her honour was unveiled in London in 2016.

While she has no direct link to our University, her legacy of resilience, compassion, and public service reflects the very values we stand for, and we’re proud to honour her name in our new space.
