Last updated: 07/10/25
Christ Church Students’ Union (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to making our website, https://ccsu.co.uk/ (the “Site”), accessible to everyone. We aim to meet or exceed best practice standards for web accessibility, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and applicable legal requirements in the UK.
Measures to support accessibility
We take the following steps to ensure accessibility:
Regular accessibility reviews and audits of the Site, using both automated tools and manual testing.
Involving users / stakeholders with disabilities to test and give feedback.
Training of our content creators and site maintainers in accessibility best practices.
Use of semantic HTML, proper headings structure, ARIA roles where appropriate.
Ensuring images have alternative text.
Ensuring sufficient colour contrast.
Ensuring the Site is usable via keyboard navigation.
Ensuring forms are properly labelled.
Regular updating and maintenance of the Site to address known issues.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers, developers, and content authors to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: A, AA, and AAA.
Our current goal is to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA throughout the Site.
