Need a break from the books and the city buzz? The Lounge is your ultimate off-campus home base. Run by the University with your well-being as our top priority, we're a dedicated safe space for all students.

We're a minute's walk from the town centre and a quick 5-minute stroll from both Augustine House Library and North Holmes Road.

Pop in between lectures for some fun. We have a variety of games to help you de-stress. Challenge a mate to a game of pool, show off your skills at ping-pong and darts, or get competitive on our games consoles. It's all here for you to enjoy!

Weekly events

There's always something happening here! Our weekly student union nights, featuring sports teams and societies, are a great way to feel at home and connect with your community.

Wednesday: Final Whistle

Every Wednesday, come down and celebrate our Christ Church sporting heroes! We cheer on the successes of our teams in the BUCS leagues, so you can be part of the winning atmosphere and show your support.

Thursday: Society Takeover

Thursdays are your chance to discover the incredible range of Christ Church societies. Each week, a different society hosts a themed evening, offering a fun and unique way to connect with other students and explore new interests. Whether you're into Dungeons & Dragons, a new sport, or something completely different, there’s a night for you.

Friday: The Live Lounge

Looking for a great night out without breaking the bank? Every Friday, The Lounge comes alive with free live music. We feature fantastic up-and-coming artists, thanks to our friends at Below the Radar, as well as talented musicians from our own university. It's all free, so come and enjoy the tunes!
