Welcome to the Women's Hockey Club

Hello and welcome to Women’s Hockey! We are an all-inclusive, friendly, fun and welcoming club.

We currently have a 1st team competing in the BUCS South Eastern 4B league and a participation team for the girls who are new to hockey or just want to have a hit around. We have a huge range of abilities, from players who have never picked up a stick before, to players who have played regionally. We play weekly fixtures in the BUCS league either at home or at other uni's around the South East on Wednesdays.

We train once a week on a Monday at Polo Farm which offers very high standard facilities. These are comprised of 2 water based pitches and 1 sand pitch which we get to play our home games on as well.

Our team also participates in a yearly Varsity game against our local rivals University of Kent, which is always very competitive and lots of fun for the team to be a part of.

Every Wednesday evening we hold a themed fancy dress social at Alberry’s, these socials are ran by our 2 social secs where we play a range of fun games. Throughout the year we also hold other social events such as movie nights, nights out, going on group walks and meals. Socials are a great opportunity for us all to have fun and interact together off the pitch, creating more memories and friendships.

Joining Women’s Hockey is a great way to make friends and get involved in University life! We are an inclusive, close knit group that become like a second family and enjoy taking part in activities together both on and off the pitch. Whether you want to play competitive hockey, train with us or join for the social side we are always welcoming and would love to have you as a part of Women’s Hockey!

Keep an eye out on our social media accounts for more information and updates on when training/socials start! We will also be on a stand at fresher’s fayre on 17th September, we hope to see you there!
