Welcome to the CCSU LGBT+ Society!

We're a group of LGBT+ students and allies dedicated to representing the LGBT+ community, and fostering a strong and diverse queer community here at CCCU. Please see below the values we uphold as a society.

• We are open and inclusive of everyone - whoever you are, you are valid!
• We aim to create a safe space for LGBT+ individuals at the university, and provide a platform for queer students at Christ Church to make friends and have fun!
• We continue to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues faced by students and the wider community.
• We do this by raising money and supporting LGBT+ charities like Mermaids, Porchlight and Just Like Us

As well as standing up and speaking out, we hold a range of socials and events, follow us on instagram (@ccsu.lgbt) to find out what we are up to:

• We aim to have two socials a week, tailored to the members we have.
• Some of our events will include trans safe spaces, queer book club, game nights, art afternoons w/tea and coffee, film nights, drag events, drag workshops, and potential trips.
• Our socials are not compulsory, just come along to what you want to!
• Most weeks we have themes, which again, are totally optional!
• We will do our best to incorporate a buddy system so if you ever feel nervous or hesitant about attending an event, you can contact us via email and instagram so we can meet up beforehand and bring you along to our events.
• We also attend Pride Canterbury every year, where you can get the opportunity to join us in the parade!
