Why do you want to apply for a Student Leader Position?

My Name is Alfred Okotie. I am currently the Student Rep for the MA Social Work cohort year one. I wish to stand for election for the position of Student Union President to enable me to represent the students in all areas of ramifications, advocating on matters of concerns behalf of the students and bringing back feedback to the students. This will enable students to concentrate on their studies without worries, knowing that the matters that concern them most are being taken care of and to give every student peace of mind.

What are your Priorities?

My priority if elected will be to focus on the students' immediate and future needs, especially new students and international students, to make sure they feel welcome at the University with different activities. The second thing is to ensure that all students are given maximum support as they go through registration and financial issues, and as they tend to settle down for their studies, this can only be possible when students have rest and peace of mind, and this will be follow up through every student's study time, liaising with the University management, bringing student's needs before them and getting feedback to students. And to organise different activities to keep students lively.
