My key priorities will be: 1) A stronger and more engaging student life I want to support more events, activities, and student-led initiatives that bring students together and make campus life more enjoyable. 2) Inclusion and representation for all students I will work to ensure every student feels welcome and represented, including international students, commuting students, and students from different cultures and backgrounds. 3) Better communication between students and the university Many students feel their concerns are not heard. I will prioritise listening to students and making sure feedback reaches the right people, with clear updates and real progress. 4) Student wellbeing and support University life can be stressful. I will focus on improving awareness and access to wellbeing support and promoting a student environment where people feel supported and not alone. 5) Support for societies and student opportunities I want societies to feel more supported, better funded, and more visible, so students have more chances to get involved, build confidence, and develop skills. Overall, my goal is to make student life better in a practical way by listening, taking action, and making sure students feel part of a strong community.

What skills and experience do you have that would make you a good Student Leader?

I believe I would be a strong Student Leader because I have real leadership experience, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for supporting students and improving student life. I have experience leading teams and managing responsibilities through my previous roles, including working as a Floor Manager, where I supervised staff, solved problems under pressure, and ensured good service and teamwork. I currently work as a Supervisor, which has strengthened my ability to stay organised, take responsibility, and make decisions calmly. I am also actively involved in student life and student communities. I have supported students from different backgrounds and understand the importance of inclusion, representation, and making sure everyone feels welcome — especially international students who may struggle to settle in. As a person, I am approachable, confident, and hardworking. I listen to people, take their concerns seriously, and I am not afraid to speak up for what is right. I also bring energy and commitment, and I want to be a leader who is visible, active, and connected with students. Most importantly, I am applying for this role because I care.
