I study occupational therapy; a vocation focused on improving the quality of people’s lives. This reflects my passion to help people. Struggling with mental health can feel isolating, especially when living away from home, this is my motivation to be wellbeing officer- to ensure no one ever feels alone. I’ll be there to support everyone no matter what! I’ve been a committed jet, showing up for extra training, stoddy, away days and socials. Balancing these different aspects is essential however can be daunting. I’ll support anyone who needs it in every setting, not just in training. If selected, i’d ensure everyone felt welcomed and valued. To ensure wellbeing is embedded throughout the year I’d host wellbeing days once a month and a monthly message on the general chat, to include everyone, with a mindfulness activity that will support your emotional journey through cheer. I’d like to drive freshers to training and make them a welcome bag with the essentials so they feel cared for immediately. I’ve managed my mental health with a metaphorical toolbox - a collection of coping strategies. I use my toolbox to handle big emotions. As your wellbeing officer I will guide you to creating your own.
