This past year, there has been a vast lack of organised activities to do with the LGBT+ society. There was an in-person meetup at the start of the year, and a Secret Santa many months later, but otherwise it has been radio silent. This is a shame, as there are many people, myself included, who need somewhere they can freely express themselves without fear or judgement. This is the main reason why I believe I would make a great candidate, as I have a very flexible schedule. I am not occupied with any other societies' activities (meaning I can focus most of my efforts here), and I am currently commuting in Canterbury. These two factors combined means if I were to be made president, I can guarantee frequent sessions, a fun time for all, as well as a safespace for people who may face discrimination either in or outside of the university. Do you want to pay money just to join an inactive Discord server, or do you want to meet up with like-minded people? Also I'll probably buy everyone brownies if that means anything. I need more tupperware and this feels like killing two birds with one stone haha
