The Canterbury, Medway, and Tunbridge Wells campuses will close for most services and activity from the end of Friday 19 December 2025 and will re-open on Monday 5 January 2026.  The Students’ Union Mary Seacole building will close at 4pm on Thursday 18th December, and reopen on Monday 5th January.

The Canterbury Campus Pantry will be unavailable while the campus is closed. Students are able to collect a free food parcel from St. George's reception.

If you need help and support over the Christmas period, there are options

Despite the winter break being associated with fun and joy, it can also be a difficult time for many of us, including students. The darker evenings, colder weather, university work, social events and pressure to be jolly can feel hard for some. That’s why we’re here to help students navigate these difficulties and make the winter break less challenging, whatever their plans or circumstances.

We’ve created advice and information to support students through the winter break and the holidays, including:

Spectrum.Life offers CCCU students immediate emotional online, text and telephone support from qualified professionals - whenever and wherever you need it.  So, whether you go back home in the UK or overseas for Christmas or you stay local there is always someone there for you.

Canterbury

  • Augustine House will remain open for students daily, except from 25-26 December 2025 and 1 January 2026 when it will be closed.
  • From 22 December to 5 January, there will be a cosy corner where you can play some pool with mates, play games, and maybe enjoy a mince pie from 9am - 9pm. So come along, meet some friends and chill out.  Remember to bring your student ID

Medway

  • The Hub reception is closed from 5pm on Wednesday 17th December, and reopens on Monday 5th January 2026. The Deep End bar and restaurant will also be closed from 12th December until 12th January 2026.
  • The main services in the Drill Hall Library will close from Wednesday 24 December until Thursday 1 January 2026. C-Block study spaces will be available 10:00 – 16:00 to Medway students from Saturday 27 December - Wednesday 31 December.  Make sure you bring your Student ID to access the building.
