How are undergraduate degrees calculated?
Use the marks from your online results (once ratified by an Exam Board), which are the raw marks (not rounded).
Undergraduate degrees are calculated by using the best 100 credits from years 2 and 3.
If you have a 40 credit module this would count as 2 of your 20 credit modules in the tool below, but only use it once if this module is your lowest mark.

How does compensation work?
Most students can have one 20 credit module mark compensated* each year if it fails but is above 30% (if the total average of all modules is above 40 but one is between 30-39 it can be compensated.
But you must get above 40% average overall.) - unless you are on an NMC course (Adult Nursing, Child Nursing, Mental Health Nursing and Midwifery) or studying Social Work or Paramedic Science then all modules must be 40% or over. Please note that the pass mark for Masters level is usually 50%.
When calculating your overall degree average you'll get rounded up to the nearest %.
i.e. a 69.5% will be rounded up to a 70 and you'll get a First!
*compensation is not 'choosing to drop a module' it is not up to you which module does not count - you must try your best in ALL your modules!!!
