How to log your hours

  1. Sign in to your CCSU account
  2. Click on ‘Volunteering Account’ on your left-hand dashboard
  3. Select ‘Log Hours’ and then ‘Add Hours’
  4. Add any time volunteering on that one day, as well as the organisation you volunteered for, and the project name if there is one. For example ‘SATEDA: Project Hope’ or ‘CCCU: Sports Coaching’ or ‘CCSU: Course Rep’
  5. If you gained any skills during your volunteering shift, do remember to add them here so you can see your skills achieved throughout the year.
  6. Navigate back to your Dashboard to see your awards progress and how near you are to the next CCCU Student Volunteering Award.

Top 3 reasons to log your hours 🤔

  1. Achieve Volunteering awards when you reach the criteria for Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond (see awards page for more info)
  2. Achieve a LinkedIn badge for your volunteer awards, so you can add your award to your LinkedIn profiles
  3. To learn what skills you have gained from participating in your volunteer role see employability page for more info

What you can log ✅

  • Any volunteering shifts completed since the 1st September this academic year
  • Any mandatory training completed either before you started the role or any ongoing training
  • Any preparation before your volunteering shifts- such as lesson planning
  • Any charity events, committee training, SU meetings, sponsorship meetings with externals and varsity meetings.
  • For student committees- any meeting time, admin time, event planning, and for the social secs only, any time running/leading a social
  • For sports- Activating or leading Active Campus sessions and/or joining the Active Campus student ambassador programme

What you can’t log ❌

  • Application and Interview times for voluntary roles
  • Travel to and from volunteering
  • Any volunteeirng completed before the 1st September this academic year
  • Any paid work
  • For student committees- anything that a non-committee member is part of.
  • For sports- attending training matches, warm-ups, competiition dats, sports fed etc.

Deadline

You can log any hours completed from the 1st September to 31st August each academic year.
