Keep Talking Services is a registered charity dedicated to reducing loneliness and supporting the mental health and well-being of people in our communities.
We provide telephone befriending to adults aged 18 and over who may be experiencing loneliness, social isolation and/or mental health difficulties. Our approach is simple: we believe in the power of meaningful human connection. Through regular telephone conversations, our volunteers provide companionship, a friendly listening ear and a non-judgemental space where people can feel heard, valued and connected.

Recruitment and training:
Students complete an application and screening call before being accepted as a volunteer. Once accepted, volunteers are required to complete a DBS check and mental health awareness training, delivered online by Alex, the founder of Keep Talking Services. We cover the cost of the DBS check.
Time commitment:
The core commitment is one hour per week for a regular telephone call with your allocated client, for a minimum commitment of six months.
Requirements:
No previous experience is required. The opportunity is open to students aged 18 or over studying a health and social care related degree.
