Some of our mentees request in-person meetings which take place in central London in cafes, museums or libraries (never at a mentee's home). Some mentees request online meetings or possibly a combination of both.
Based on your schedule, we will look to pair you with a mentee whose availability aligns with yours.
Unfold is offering a meaningful opportunity to become a mentor for women with children aged 5 and above, supporting them either online or face-to-face. This role is about providing consistent, compassionate support to women who may be experiencing social isolation, low confidence, or other life challenges.
Your presence as a mentor can help create space for reflection, connection, and positive change. Through regular mentoring sessions—usually offered weekly over a period of 12 to 24 weeks—you’ll support women in identifying the changes they want to make and the goals they hope to achieve.
Using a coaching-style approach, you’ll help them build strategies to reach these goals while offering a steady, non-judgemental space to talk through the issues they’re facing.
As a mentor, you’ll:
- Empower women to recognise their strengths and work towards meaningful goals.
- Offer a listening ear and provide emotional, social, and practical support.
- Help women connect with community groups or services, reducing isolation.
- Signpost to other organisations when specialist support is needed.
The impact of your mentoring goes beyond the individual—you’ll be helping to improve family wellbeing, strengthen relationships, and build more connected communities. Many women who engage with Unfold’s mentoring support go on to feel more confident, more connected, and better equipped to navigate everyday challenges.
Unfold hopes you can offer your time weekly over the mentoring period, but this is entirely flexible and at your discretion. If you're ready to support a woman on her journey to greater confidence and connection, register your interest today and become a mentor with Unfold.
