Exceptional Circumstances

Are extenuating circumstances outside of your academic study affecting your ability to get work in or attend taught sessions?

I have been experiencing personal problems that have been affecting my work, what should I do?

If you feel that exceptional circumstances outside of your academic study are affecting your ability to get work in or attend taught sessions then you should inform your course. You may need to complete an Exceptional Circumstances Request and submit it if necessary. The relevant forms and policy can be found HERE this explains what circumstances are usually considered as exceptional circumstances and how the course will treat this information.

You can access long term support if you feel you need a longer extension through a Temporary Learning Agreement (TLA) speak to your course team or Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) about this.

“As a Students’ Union Advice Centre we offer advice in good faith, based on knowledge, experience and the best information available to us. Students who seek our help must take responsibility for their own decisions based on the advice we give.”
