In 2005 Dr Cliff Arnall, formerly of Cardiff University, came up with a light-hearted formula for predicting the gloomiest day of the year based on factors including weather, debts, time since Christmas and motivation.
This year it was expected to be even more depressing than usual with the celebrity deaths, anxiety over Brexit, and fears about a Donald Trump presidency in the US.
Myself and the other sabbs thought it would be nice to patrol the library giving out free sweets and environmentally related treats.

We were giving out water bottles to keep hard working students hydrated and to avoid harmful wasted cups!
We also gave out free recycled pens to students to maximise word count and minimise environmental impact!
