Palestine Solidarity Society

We are a group of students who, concerned with global equality and justice, want to build and show solidarity with Palestine. In particular we wish to highlight the injustice of the situation today within Historical Palestine – with the siege of Gaza, the military occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem (Al Quds), and the discrimination of Palestinians in modern-day Israel.

We aim to learn more about, and raise awareness of, the daily struggle of native Palestinian communities facing daily and structural discrimination, military occupation, siege and a system of segregation resulting in collective and individual human rights abuses. We wish to learn about our role as UK students and citizens in this situation and how we can help bring about a change contributing to political and civil right for all in Palestine.

We would like to start a discussion of this on campus through public meetings, talks, cultural events and peaceful actions to assist in the aims above. We aim to collaborate with other societies and networks within the university and the local area, and nationally, who are concerned with social and political justice issues, including the BME network, the LGBTQ+ society, the Labour society and the national Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

We will be meeting on regular basis, and will be organising and taking part in events on campus such as The Black History Month, and Israel Apartheid Week.

We also welcome the signing up of associates, such as staff members at CCCU.
