Looking try something new this year? We are looking for new players to join our team! Joining a sports team will undoubtedly improve your university experience. Whether that is with us at women’s rugby or with another team, we encourage you to do so!
In the 2015/16 season, we remained undefeated throughout the entire year of the rugby season, winning our league and as a result, moving up into the league above. Through hard work from all of our team, we managed to achieve a close second place in the 2016/17 season. The 2017/18 season saw us reach our peak achievements to date. We achieved a comfortable first place in our BUCS league (South eastern 1A), and reached the last play-off round for Premiership level university rugby. This made us a headline name across the whole of the south of the United Kingdom; we played teams as far away as Swansea University.
Every February, our university battle it out with the University of Kent, at all sports, in a week-long event known as ‘Varsity’. The finale of this week is always the rugby varsity. We have been successful against Kent’s women’s team for the last five consecutive years, and we are of course looking to extend this winning streak into the 2019 Varsity competition.
Whether you want to be apart of the team, just train with us or just to join us on socials, we would love to have you!
