Language Support

International Student Drop-ins

If you are an international student, there is some support that you can receive with your English Language skills.

SU & Learnings Skills for International Student Drop-Ins

The SU and Learning Skills team are providing some drop-in sessions at the SU Hub on Canterbury Campus. The sessions are running on 

  • Thursday 22nd February 2024 - 12pm-2pm 

  • Tuesday 27th February 2024 - 2pm-4pm

  • Wednesday 6th March 2024 - 12pm-2pm

 

Academic English Support Service

They can support with Writing, Reading, Presentation and Communication Skills. 

You can have an appointment with the team - book onto those sessions here. If you can’t find a session, email academic.english@canterbury.ac.uk.  

 

International Student Success Programme

The University have an online programme to support international students in adapting to university life, through an external provider, so you can access this programme.

Community Language Programme

International students and local residents can attend English classes, ran by our very own Teaching Students. 

These classes provide the community to attend a high-quality language class free of charge. 

These are running from February to May 2024 - on weekday afternoons between 3pm-5pm. This is the timetable. You can attend as little or as many classes as you wish.
