Learning Developers

Learning developers can support you with planning from the beginning to the end of any assignment. They will run you through the skills you need to succeed in your academic studies.

For self-help, you can find skill cards in the library.

Also, you can meet with them 1:1 or as a small group.

Some skills you may want or need to learn during your time are:

  • Time management - Deadline season can be terrifying. You might have many deadlines close together. But, the skill of time management can set you up for success.

  • Critical thinking - Critically assessing what information is accurate and proper sources.

  • Structure - to write an assignment, you must first structure your thoughts. Assignments can be different to any work you have done before. Structuring your work can help you to express your ideas clearly and concisely.

  • Referencing - learning this skill helps you develop academic writing skills. It is so important as it helps you to maintain academic integrity.

  • Understanding Feedback - when you get your feedback from your lecturers, it is so important that you can understand the feedback you have been given; so that you can use this feedback to help you improve on your next assignment.
