School and Faculty Representatives are students who volunteer their time throughout the academic year to attend meetings on behalf of the student body to raise academic matters and contribute to the development of the student experience.
A School Representative attends termly Your Course meetings with the President of Academic Life. These meetings are organised by faculties, with each School Rep invited to attend to present feedback they have gathered from Course Reps and students in their school. This ensures that the student voice is being heard and represented by the Students' Union and the President. Where relevant, matters raised in these meetings can be taken by the President to the university.

A Faculty Representative attends Faculty-level meetings with senior management teams across the university. The primary purpose of a Faculty Representative is to ensure the Student Voice is heard at Faculty level meetings. A Faculty Representative is an essential piece of the overall university structure. A Faculty Representative ensures that students' voices are considered wherever Faculty-level decisions are made. These reps also sit on Union Council in meetings held five times a year.
- Meetings Faculty Reps will attend:
- Union Council
- Academic Regulation and Policy Sub-Committee
- Faculty Work-Based, Placement and Practice Learning Sub-Committee (FMHSC only)
Both School and Faculty Representatives are elected yearly in our October elections for Senior Representatives and Union Council. More information about these elections and how to express your interest in representing your school, faculty or even your student community can be found on our Union Council webpage.
