CANTERBURY CHRIST CHURCH UNIVERSITY
TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE QUALITY MONITORING AND REVIEW SUB-COMMITTEE
Deriving its authority for the operational oversight of the management of quality and standards from the Education and the Student Experience Committee of Academic Board, the Quality Monitoring and Review Sub-Committee shall:
1. Scrutinise and provide assurances to the Education and the Student Experience Committee on the operation and outcomes of:
i. the University’s quality assurance and enhancement procedures
ii. student procedures including extenuating circumstances, academic integrity, academic misconduct, complaints, appeals and fitness to practice/professional suitability
iii. student outcomes including classification, progression, retention and withdrawal
iv. the authority delegated to Faculty Quality Committees
v. indicators of student satisfaction, including the outcomes of national and University surveys
vi. professional statutory and regulatory body activity relevant to the University’s courses and the associated work streams deriving from that
vii. annual monitoring and continuous improvement activities, including Course Continuous Improvement Planning (CCIP) and Professional Service Annual Monitoring (PSAM).
2. Receive reports to ensure appropriate actions are identified, monitored and completed to achieve and maintain robust quality, standards and outcomes in relation to the areas listed above.
3. Approve material relating to quality assurance and enhancement procedures.
4. Take account of national and international developments in the external environment that relate to quality and standards, regulatory compliance, enhancement, continuous improvement and the student experience.
