Veganuary - Accidentally Vegan and Stir fry with Satay Sauce Recipe

Stir fry with Satay Sauce Recipe

In today's blog we have a fantastic recipe from the President of our very own Vegan Society

You can make this delicous and simple stiry fry by following the following recipe:

Stir fry with Satay Sauce Recipe

  • 2 Tbsp finely chopped onion

  • 1 small clove garlic, finely chopped

  • ½ cup Crunchy Peanut Butter

  • ½ cup water

  • 2 Tbsp sweet chilli sauce

  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce

  • Squeeze of lime or lemon juice to taste

(Some people add a hint of ginger to their Satay but I don’t like ginger so I leave that out!)

Heat a dash of oil in a small saucepan. Cook the onion and garlic over a low heat until soft. Do not allow to brown, add the Peanut Butter and water and and stir until smooth. Remove from the heat and stir in sweet chilli sauce, soy sauce and lime juice.

I mix in chopped tofu then stir fry all together.

Accidentally Vegan

A lot of what we eat is actually vegan without us knowing about it!

Here are some of the more suprising ones:

  • Oreos
  • Mr Kipling: Treacle Tart, Apple and Blackcurrant Pies
  • Millions: All flavours except Chocolate Strawberry
  • Haribo: Vegetarian Rainbow Twists, Vegetarian Rainbow Strips
  • Heineken
  • Pringles: Original, BBQ Sauce, Texas BBQ, Paprika and Smokey Bacon
