Dear Student

Can you believe it's been two weeks since our last newsletter roundup? Here's the latest from your Students' Union.

Giving Back

We all love to get stuff, but Christmas is about giving too, so we’ve put together a Giving Back Advent Calendar. Each day there’ll be a new thing you can do to give something back to the community. See today’s Advent.

Fill US In

Complete the Union Survey and tell us what you think of the Students’ Union. Help us improve and achieve our mission: ‘To make our members’ decision to choose Canterbury Christ Church University the most worthwhile one they could have made by enriching their experience in every aspect of the time they spend living and studying with us.’

By completing the survey, you will be entered into the prize draw to win £500 or one of four £100 prizes. Use a student rep code (ask your Student Rep for their University login e.g.ab123) and you could win a bonus £50! Every student who completes the survey also receives a free drink!

AGM Success!

There were lots of votes taken and pizza eaten at this year’s Annual General Meeting on 24th November making it a great success. The Trustees Report and Financial Statements from 2014/15 were approved and the Leadership Team updated everyone on the things they’ve been up to, including their manifesto updates, so the things you voted them in for!

The main point of the meeting was to approve the new Articles of Association (the constitution) of the Students' Union which will make the way the Union is governed better and simpler for everyone.

Thank you to all members who came and voted, you can catch up on what you missed here www.ccsu.co.uk/agm.

AGM

Get the sabbs to the North Pole - and then gunge ‘em!

Your Leadership Team are raising money for their chosen charities through a bike ride. There are 4 bikes set up in the SU reception and it’s your job to cycle as much as you can to get them (hypothetically and not hyperthermally) to the north pole.

  • Krum’s charity - Alzheimer's Society
  • Nicola’s charity - National Autistic Society
  • Emily’s charity - Mind
  • Sophie’s charity - PETA

Then join us at the last Final Whistle event of term on December 9th and gunge the sabbs! For every £10 raised for charity, we’ll add another ingredient to the gunge bucket! So come down to the SU and get on your bike!
