As we wrap up the 2024/25 academic year, we’re taking a moment to look back and celebrate the incredible events, campaigns, activities and stats you helped make possible over the past year.
Your Course
- 5 Academic Success Sessions in Medway, including the return of the Postgraduate Shut Up & Write Event
- 452 Course and School and Faculty Reps recruited, with 41% trained by us

Your Wellbeing
- 447 cases supported by our Advice Service
- 8 wellbeing events in Medway, including breakfast clubs, winter wellness and Medway Day
- Molly's Don’t Burn Out! campaign included events to encourage students to take a break and find a balance between their social and academic life: 2 puppy therapy sessions, Medway breakfasts, Paint and Pot, 2 fruit handouts in the library and top tips on Instagram
- 34,920 visits to the Mary Seacole building, which is over 4,000 more than the previous year
- 8,126 free drinks dispensed from our hot drinks machine, which has saved students approximately £18,283. The cost of this service during the year has been covered by the sponsorship deal we have with Lost Sheep Coffee - a local company based in Whitstable
- £2,243 spent providing free cereal and toast during our daily breakfast club
- The Canterbury Campus Pantry supported 83 students in food crisis with an emergency food parcel
- After our campaign, the University has trialled free to vend period products in bathrooms across all campuses, as well as sanitary and contraceptive products being free in Mary Seacole
- 30+ students took part in the Movember Varsity cycling challenge to raise awareness for Men’s Mental Health
Your Self
- 200 free wellbeing bags handed out at our Medway and Salomons campuses
- 1,546 students voted, casting in total 4,178 votes for your 2025/26 Student Leaders. This meant the student turnout was 14.83% making it the highest turnout since 2017. The 2025/26 elections also saw the most ever candidates run!
- 70 CVs and career pamphlets handed out to Medway Students for Sadia's Employability campaign
- Ali handed out information on Report and Support, safe routes, Ask for Angela cards, spikies, torches and cup covers to Medway and Canterbury students for his Safe Night Out campaign
- Over 50 CCCU female athletes featured in Molly's Varsity 'Women in Sport' campaign video to highlight and celebrate our female athletes
Your Communities
- We held 19 pop-up events at Medway, including breakfast clubs, crafternoons, puppies and alpacas
- 300 students attended 17 free or low cost events as part of our Give it a Go! scheme, including West End shows, trips to London, Wildwood walks, puppy therapy and more

- At the CCSU Celebrates Awards we celebrated and awarded 5 Student Reps, 3 Peer Mentors, 5 Ambassadors, 7 GradForcers, 3 society members and 7 societies
- We celebrated 60 volunteers (24 for Bronze, 13 for Silver, 11 for Gold, 5 for Platinum, 6 for Diamond, 1 for Special Recognition)
- 24 students awarded with a Super Student Award
- Student Reps have worked with the university on Assessment Regulations, Interdisciplinary Modules and the Student Success Modules; using their experience to benefit incoming students
- 210 students attended the annual Sports Federation awards, celebrating the years' sporting success with 14 awards handed out
- 42 sports club members awarded Half Colours

- 400 Christ Church Lions competed in 36 Varsity fixtures against the University of Kent
