Last week at the Conservative Party Conference, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak made some comments which we feel may have alienated some communities. We wanted to reiterate our overwhelming support for all our members. We commit to creating and supporting life-changing student communities, to breaking down barriers that hinder participation, and to actively celebrate diversity. To support our diverse community we have the LGBT Society, as well as representation on Union Council from our LBGTQIA+ Officer and our Trans Student Officer.
We appreciate that the Prime Minister’s comments may have made our marginalised communities want to hide even more. We hope you know there is always a safe space for you at CCSU.
