Christ Church is one of the first universities to be composting our food waste on site with the installation of our very own Ridan Food Waste Composter.
The Composter, on site at Canterbury Campus, composts all the food waste coming out of the Canterbury Campus Food Court kitchen.
The Students' Union and the University developed the idea back in November 2017 and by July 2018 our Composter arrived.
In the first year of processing the Composter diverted 4,333L of Food Waste, created 900L of compost used on site and was run by 152 hours of volunteering time.
