The Youth Academy is the pioneering scheme for young people in Canterbury founded by volunteers of CSRfm in the Summer of 2009. The Academy was set up to provide young people boasting a keen eye for media with the opportunity to learn key skills necessary for success in the radio industry, and to provide ongoing support for those who have established fundamental skills but still want to develop. Since its inception, the Youth Academy has opened its doors to young people across Canterbury ranging a variety of ages and experience, including to: students of Canterbury College, King’s College, and the Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School.

In the coming weeks CSR will be opening its doors once again, this time taking the form of a 6 week after-school project, running on Tuesday afternoons from October 14th 2014 through to November 18th. Moreover, it’ll be completely free.
