TW: Mentions of sexual violence.
We believe that everyone should expect respect and have the right to live, study and work in a safe and supportive environment free from harassment of any kind.
Sadly this isn’t always the reality and so we encourage you to report any incidents as it’s never okay.
Sexist jokes, rape jokes, and victim-blaming comments are all too common in the online world, but they contribute to the same way of thinking that fuels real-life violence.
When unchecked these posts and ‘jokes’ send a harmful message that the trauma of sexual assault is not taken seriously—and that it's okay to be deliberately offensive or shocking for attention on the internet.
If you have experienced or witnessed sexual violence, sexual harassment, relationship abuse, or discrimination within the Christ Church community, you can report it using the University’s Report + Support service. You can report incidences anonymously or speak to an advisor. Reports can be about an individual, a group of people or cultures. We take all reports of sexual harassment very seriously.
If you need support then not only are there the university Student Wellbeing Advisers but also a number of external agencies that provide support for individuals that are experiencing discrimination, harassment or domestic abuse. Please do not suffer in silence:
