Having spoken to students we've been told you would like to know more about what your students' union and your elected officers are up to, so here's our latest update for the week ending Friday 22nd January 2021.

You'll appreciate a lot goes on, so it's mostly bullet points, but we try and share on social media or expand on larger actions here on the website, but if you have any questions or want to know more then please get in touch.

Maddy's Week (Sports & Engagement Sabbatical Officer)

22/01 Friday

Filmed our sab podcast; met internally to organize the tutoring program and filmed for refreshers fayre

25/01 Monday 

Leadership meeting, Discussed events for semester two with the opportunities team, Union Council meeting, Met virtually with a sports team to discuss their virtual event, Met with Christ Church sport and active health, and had a meeting with my lovely Executive committee.  

27/01 Wednesday

Refreshers!!! 

28/01 Thursday

Met with CCCU sport to discuss the exciting new BRIT21 challenge, Put out comms around the challenge, Started looking into a Hate Crime Campaign, and Completed my personal development work.

 

Beth's Week (Developmental Sabbatical Officer)

22/01 Friday

Filming and editing videos for refreshers fayre.

25/01 Monday 

Presented my work and campaign activity to the union council and met with the Union Societies Executive Committee       

26/01 Tuesday

1-1 meeting with societies, was a guest speaker at the Community Impact Forum and met with the university wellbeing team to discuss student support

27/01 Wednesday

1-1 meeting with societies and refreshers fayre

28/01 Thursday

1-1 meeting with societies and meeting with Coole Insight.

A chance for officers to hold full-time sabbatical officers to account in a formal process.

All proposals passed at UC and actions updated by officers

 

IT meeting 

Regarding the SU app development and laptop loan scheme

Update since the meeting: Put Anna in contact with another app supplier called Modo Labs we have a demo this afternoon.

The loan laptop application form is in the process of being 'streamlined'

Funding towards internet access (up to £270 lump sum) will soon be available via the same process.

I'm meeting Fran Stuart in my team to talk about laptop recycling to local school charities this afternoon.

The Dec-March target is way off for registered students

 

Concerns over the data.

 

There is no “map” to understand how all of this ties in.

 

Must look to getting students registered by June 2021 in order to satisfy the commitment they made us to get student timetables by August.

Met to discuss the areas of the VC’s letter which are being progressed and need to be pushed further
