A few words from Biba
Being President (Sports) this year has been everything that I’ve wanted and more.
This year I have achieved nearly all of my manifesto points within the first term, allowing me to concentrate on the bigger and better ideas that I have planned for the Christ Church sporting body.
My job has been made so much easier by the fact that I work with you as such a passionate, dedicated and talented group of individuals!
I wanted to create Team Christ Church this year to give us an identity and sense of unity in order to showcase our incredible community. The support network that we have within our teams is like no other and I know that I would not be where I am today if I had not been a part of it.
From the ‘ThisChristChurchGirlCan’ campaign all the way through to our highest scoring Varsity week in the last five years it has truly been a remarkable year.
Below are some of the highlights of my time as President (Sports):
Produced Team Christ Church social wear
Introduced President of the Week feature
Established a better partnership between CCSU and Christ Church Sport
Developed a Sports section on the CCSU website which features on the new Union App!
Lobbied the University about my goal of developing a 3G pitch
Created a Hardship Fund for students that struggle to pay membership fees
Created a greater awareness for LGBT+ as the theme of Varsity
Attended various training sessions and socials to bond with teams
Worked with Unified for better coverage for our Sports Clubs
Being an active part of developing disability sport provision
Strengthening our community club links
Chairing the Board of Trustees
And many more!
None of this would have been possible without the support from you guys so I thank you all. And the best thing is, is that I get to do it all over again! #TeamChristChurch!
