Not all heros wear capes but the Eco Students society were spotted by a local resident who wanted to share their good deeds.
The Eco Students are an environmental society formed of Canterbury Christ Church University students with a mission to make a difference and ensure the planet is protected for years to come. Focussing on grassroots events and activities such as beach cleans, composting on campus, Fairtrade events and more, it was great to see that their March 2020 Litter Pick received local recognition.
A canterbury resident spotted the Eco Students picking litter around the North Holmes Road campus in Canterbury, asked to take a photo, and then posted it on Canterbury Residents Group, a group on Facebook with over 36,000 members.
It's fair to say that students don't always get good press on social media, so it's great to see news like this and more #ChristChurchWins.
The Eco Students collected 2 full bags of rubbish on their route and you can find out more about their work on their Facebook Group, their Instagram page, or by emailing ecostudents@ccsu.co.uk. CCCU students can also join the society at ccsu.co.uk/organisation/ecostudents
