What is Anime?

Anime are Japanese animated productions, often characterised by unique stylization, vibrant characters with broad and fantastical themes which set them apart from most western cartoons.

Some of you may not have heard of Anime before, but you may recognise a well-known production company called Studio Ghibli, which consists of Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, just to name a few.
