A Big Welcome from

the Law & Mooting Society 2023/2024

This academic year, 2023/2024, the Law & Mooting society is committed to provided more opportunities to provide you the chance to gain professional connections and to boost your employability prospects. We seek to meet with local firms for potential work experience or internships which will be available to members.

 

The Brief

The CCCU Law & Mooting Society is open to all students who share a similar interest in the law. Through purchasing an annual membership for £20.00, members will be able to compete in competitions, and gain exclusive access to events. Our career enhancing events will help boost your commercial awareness, give you opportunities to network and gain work experience in your chosen field. The society will offer a variety of legal related trips, socials and cinema nights, to offer you a much-needed break from your studies.

 

The Big Events

We are are excited to announce that members will have exclusive offers to the annual Law Dinner, End of Year/ Christmas party and Celebration of Spring/ Easter party. 

 

Trips

This year, trips to London Parliament and to the Inns of Court will be arranged which will provide a fantastic opportunity for members to experience the majesty of law in these historic venues. 

 

Academic Support

Workshops and Talks will take place from legal professionals in order for members to gain an insight into the different fields of the law and dependant on availability. We aim to provide study sessions for revision and exam preparation to tackle exam stress. 

 

It's not all work and no play!

The committee will be hosting an array of fun socials, such as our colour/ neon party, and charity events to ensure you get the best experience during your time here in Canterbury Christchurch University. Look out for the Society Takeovers, the same of which the Law & Mooting Society will be hosting and co-hosting in the near future.

Medical Disclaimer

When purchasing your membership, we need you to share any pre-existing medical conditions, illnesses or injuries by completing this form. This will enable us to provide support to you throughout your time involved in sports clubs and societies. We need you to keep us updated if any circumstances change. 

Once you have shared this information, we will ask you to gather medical evidence showing that doctors have signed you off and have given you the go ahead to participate. It helps us work with our insurance provider to ensure we are all covered and of staff to make sure your needs are met. If you need support in gathering the medical evidence, then a member of staff can contact you, once you have completed the form.

Any information you give us will only be shared with Christ Church Sport, Christ Church Students’ Union, and the president of your committee. This helps ensure your safety and risk assessments to mitigate any issues.
